A recent survey by Consolidated Credit highlights a significant shift in financial priorities among the Hispanic community in the United States, with a growing emphasis on debt elimination and financial stability in 2025. The study, involving over 400 participants, found that 66.67% of respondents now consider debt payoff their primary financial goal, up from 50.8% in 2024. This indicates a heightened awareness and proactive approach to economic planning within the community.

Credit card debt among Hispanics has seen a slight decrease, with the percentage carrying such debt dropping from 87.7% in 2024 to 83.22% in 2025. The distribution of debt amounts also shows positive trends, with more individuals in lower debt brackets and fewer in higher ranges. Specifically, 29.44% of respondents reported debts between $6,000 and $10,000, while 28.44% owed less than $5,000. The proportion of those with debts of $20,000 or more decreased from 17.1% to 12.59%.

To tackle financial challenges, respondents are adopting various strategies. Forty-one percent are considering debt consolidation programs, and 30% are focusing on making consistent payments and maintaining responsible budgets. These methods reflect a strategic and informed approach to managing finances.

Despite these efforts, the community faces ongoing obstacles. Job loss is the top concern, with 42.66% of participants worried about employment stability. Inflation also poses a significant challenge, with 35% citing high costs for essentials like food, housing, and education as major barriers to financial progress. Additionally, 18% of respondents identified medical debt as a significant concern, underscoring the need for comprehensive financial planning.

The Consolidated Credit survey underscores the resilience and determination of the Hispanic community in pursuing economic empowerment. By prioritizing debt reduction and adopting strategic financial practices, they are navigating the complexities of the current economic landscape with foresight and discipline.
