According to Hodo Founder Minh Tsai, the tofu category has seen an 8% sales growth between 2021 and 2023, with younger generations increasingly adopting tofu as a dietary staple. Hodo's product line now includes over 20 retail SKUs, featuring a variety of entrees, dips, flavored tofu blocks, and innovative products like the Saucy Tofu Kits. Each retailer will offer a curated selection of Hodo's products, catering to the diverse tastes and preferences of their customers.
The products are made from organic, non-GMO soybeans, providing a protein-rich, nutrient-dense alternative that includes all nine essential amino acids. With retail prices ranging from $4.99 to $7.99, Hodo's offerings are positioned as accessible options for consumers looking to incorporate more plant-based proteins into their diets.
This retail expansion builds on Hodo's existing presence in regional and national retailers such as Whole Foods, Albertsons Safeway, HEB, and Wegmans. Additionally, the company has forged partnerships in the foodservice sector, supplying ingredients to notable establishments like Chipotle, Sweetgreen, and various corporate cafeterias.
