Sofitel Saigon Plaza is set to redefine the afternoon tea experience in Ho Chi Minh City with the reintroduction of Le Goûter, a French-inspired culinary event starting December 5, 2024. Available from Tuesday to Sunday, 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Le17 Bistro, this offering blends traditional French pastry techniques with Vietnamese flavors, curated by French Chef Robin Mouquet.
Chef Mouquet, with a background in Michelin-starred kitchens, introduces a menu that includes standout creations like the Mont Blanc and Paris Brest, each telling a story of cultural fusion. The Mont Blanc combines crispy meringue with blueberry tartness and chestnut purée, while the Paris Brest, inspired by France's oldest cycling race, features golden pate à choux and Hazelnut Mousseline.
The experience is enhanced by an interactive presentation, with pastries displayed on a white trolley for guests to select. On select days, Chef Mouquet will personally serve guests, offering insights into his culinary inspirations. Beverage pairings include premium teas from Dilmah's The Teamakers Private Reserve, sustainable Vietnamese coffee from Folliett Coffee, and Pommery Brut Reserve Champagne.
Mr. Alistair Minty, Acting General Manager, highlights Le Goûter's role in positioning Sofitel Saigon Plaza as a cultural crossroads, merging French elegance with Vietnamese hospitality. This initiative not only elevates the hotel's gastronomic offerings but also contributes to the city's luxury dining scene, appealing to both international travelers and local connoisseurs.
Le Goûter exemplifies the evolving hospitality industry's focus on creating immersive, culturally rich experiences. By offering a unique blend of French and Vietnamese culinary traditions, Sofitel Saigon Plaza sets a new standard for afternoon tea, promising an unforgettable experience of sweetness and sophistication.
