Oriole Resources PLC is significantly increasing its exploration activities at the Bibemi orogenic gold project located in Cameroon. This strategic move, undertaken in collaboration with BCM International, involves launching a comprehensive drilling program designed to verify new geophysical targets and potentially enhance the current mineral resource estimate (MRE). The initiative underscores the company's commitment to uncovering additional gold resources in the region.
Tim Livesey, CEO of Oriole Resources, highlighted the discovery of several promising new targets through the recent analysis of geophysical data. These targets are separate from those included in the MRE upgrade announced in January. 'We're exploring entirely new areas,' Livesey stated, pointing to the untapped potential within the Bibemi project. The 2024 drilling plan is focused on identifying resources at shallow depths and expanding the MRE, with the company planning to drill up to five new targets.
In addition to the Bibemi project, Oriole Resources and BCM International are making strides in their exploration efforts at the Mbe target, with results expected in the near future. The company is also set to advance exploration across its other licenses in Cameroon, indicating a robust year ahead. Livesey expressed optimism about confirming significant resources by 2025 and maintaining an active exploration schedule throughout their portfolio. This expansion reflects Oriole Resources' strategic focus on leveraging promising geophysical data and exploration opportunities to strengthen its presence in Cameroon's mining sector.
