The Kempinski Grace Bay development officially commenced construction with a ceremony attended by senior government officials including Premier Charles Washington Misick and Deputy Governor Anya Williams. This project represents Kempinski Hotels' first entry into the Turks and Caicos Islands, bringing the 128-year-old European hospitality brand to what many consider one of the Caribbean's premier destinations.
Premier Misick emphasized the significance of this development for the islands' tourism evolution, stating that global interest in Turks and Caicos continues to grow. The project offers investors and visitors an opportunity to experience the islands' cultural heritage and natural beauty through the lens of luxury hospitality and impeccable service standards that Kempinski is renowned for worldwide.
Developed by JTRE across 11 acres of secluded shoreline, the property aims to redefine coastal living through understated architecture and deep respect for the natural environment. Barbara Muckermann, Group CEO of Kempinski Hotels, described the location as one of the true gems of the Caribbean and indicated the property will serve as a flagship within their portfolio, representing an enduring expression of the company's heritage and craftsmanship.
The low-density design features 119 private residences and four oceanfront villas, all oriented toward panoramic sea views. Interior design draws inspiration from the island's natural palette, incorporating materials such as limestone, timber, and glass. Marek Baca, Chief Representative for the Americas at JTRE, characterized the project as creating a sanctuary that blends timeless European elegance with the natural splendor of Grace Bay.
Amenities will include fine dining venues, a beach club, a 3,000 square foot wine cellar, a European spa, ocean view fitness facilities, and a sports pavilion featuring tennis and padel courts along with a children's club. The development sets a new benchmark for luxury in the Caribbean, focusing on natural seascapes and rich cultural integration.
Sustainability measures are integrated throughout the project, featuring insulated glass, solar systems, and native landscaping nourished by recycled water. Rasha Lababidi, Chief Product & Experience Officer at Kempinski Hotels, noted that Kempinski Grace Bay will be an iconic property for the brand and a defining destination in the Americas, capturing the company's ethos of rarity, authenticity, and timeless grace.
This project builds upon the successful partnership between Kempinski Hotels and JTRE, whose international portfolio includes acclaimed developments across London, Slovakia, and Germany. Construction is scheduled to continue through 2026, with completion anticipated in 2028. Sales representation is handled exclusively by Christie's International Real Estate Turks & Caicos and Engel & Völkers Turks & Caicos.
