Goldbergs Fine Foods, an Atlanta-based New York-style deli and restaurant, has launched its third annual Holiday Toy Drive to support the Foster Care Support Foundation. The initiative runs from December 2 through December 20 at all participating Goldbergs locations except the airport, collecting new, unwrapped toys, games, art supplies, and gifts for children in foster and relative care throughout Georgia.
The Foster Care Support Foundation, a Georgia-based nonprofit operating since 2000, provides free clothing, infant equipment, and developmental toys to thousands of children in foster care. The organization has served tens of thousands of children in the state, addressing what Bradley Saxe, Co-CEO of Goldbergs Fine Foods, described as helping "bring joy to children who may otherwise feel overlooked during the holidays." Saxe emphasized that giving back to the community has been a core value for Goldbergs, which has operated in Atlanta for more than 50 years.
Donors participating in the toy drive will receive a free bagel and cream cheese as appreciation for their contributions. The restaurant is also featuring limited-time seasonal offerings including the Gingerbread Bagel and Orange Cranberry Cream Cheese, described as delivering "warm, cozy flavors of the season." Suggested donations include toys for all ages, with particular need for items suitable for children ages eight and older, including Legos, craft kits for teens, and games for children ages six and older.
All collected items will be directed to the Foster Care Support Foundation, where individuals can select items for free from their store. The foundation serves children in Georgia's foster homes administered by the Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and those housed by private agencies.
