The Military Spouse Advocacy Network (MSAN) will officially incorporate the Psych Hub Mental Health Ally Certification into the catalog of its Leadership Institute for Military Spouses (LIMS) in 2026. This integration follows significant growth for MSAN's LIMS program in 2025 and aims to address pressing mental health challenges within the military spouse community. The certification is sponsored by USAA and will be offered as a self-paced, on-demand course through the institute.
Survey data from the 2025 program cohort underscores the need for this initiative. According to MSAN, 83% of surveyed participants reported that challenges encountered as a military spouse have affected their mental health or overall wellness. Furthermore, 97% of participants who completed the related coursework indicated they now have tools to assist themselves or someone else during a mental health crisis, and 92% said the training taught them something new about mental health.
The Mental Health Allyship training is designed to help mitigate mental health resource shortages. Participants gain access to Psych Hub's evidence-based professional training, which includes a library of over 1,000 digital assets such as short videos, shareable content, and podcasts. The program supports the development of a more compassionate and mentally fit volunteer force among military spouses.
Eligibility for the program extends to all spouses of currently serving United States military members from any branch, including the Reserves and Guard, as well as post-9/11 Gold Star Spouses, Surviving Spouses, Caregivers, or spouses of Veterans or Retirees.
