The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) led a record delegation of 61 technology companies to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026 in Las Vegas, drawing immediate attention from international brands, investors, and industry leaders. The Hong Kong Tech Pavilion, the largest ever from the city, showcased innovations across advanced materials, sustainable technology, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, robotics, and health technologies, reinforcing Hong Kong's strategic position as a global innovation and technology hub.
Three Hong Kong companies received prestigious CES Innovation Awards, highlighting the quality of the city's research and development. Widemount Dynamics Tech secured the Best of Innovation award in the "Product in Support of Human Security for All" category for its Smart Firefighting Robot. In the Digital Health category, Eieling was honored for FattaLab®, described as the world's first intelligence-driven compact fatty liver diagnostic device, while PointFit Technology received recognition for its patented ultra-thin biomarkers tracking wearable, the PF-Sweat Patch. These awards validate Hong Kong's capacity to produce frontier technologies with global market potential.
Terry Wong, CEO of HKSTP, stated that the participation demonstrates Hong Kong's unique convergence of cutting-edge R&D, global talent, and capital. He emphasized HKSTP's role in connecting innovators with resources, markets, and opportunities to propel them onto the world stage. Vivian Chan, Associate Director of Business Development at HKTDC, noted the organization's over 40 years of participation at CES and its commitment to facilitating technology-driven, cross-border business deals and investments through its global network of over 50 offices, which reinforces Hong Kong's position as a regional and global innovation hub. The delegation's composition, featuring 47 companies from within the HKSTP ecosystem, indicates a mature support structure for technology ventures. The companies presented across both the Global Pavilion and Eureka Park sections of CES, targeting different market segments from established enterprise buyers to early-stage innovators. For business and technology leaders, this development signals Hong Kong's evolving role beyond its traditional financial strengths into a competitive source of deep-tech innovation. The immediate buyer interest suggests these technologies address pressing global needs in security, healthcare, and sustainability, potentially opening new supply chains and partnership opportunities. The success at CES 2026 may accelerate investment into Hong Kong's innovation ecosystem and influence how other regions develop their technology export strategies.
