Critical Infrastructure Technologies Ltd. and AIRmarket Inc. have executed a memorandum of understanding to explore and potentially commercialize solutions supporting drone-enabled airspace and remotely piloted aircraft system traffic management. The non-binding framework establishes a collaborative focus on bi-national, defense-inclusive government and emergency services use cases spanning Australia and Canada.
The partnership aims to enhance the safe, sovereign, and compliant integration of drones into national airspace to support defense, public safety, and critical infrastructure operations. AIRmarket brings expertise in RPAS traffic management, airspace utilities, aviation safety, and regulatory engagement to the collaboration. CiTech contributes secure digital platforms, systems integration, data and AI capabilities, and manufactures autonomous communications infrastructure required to operationalize drones in regulated environments.
Specific focus areas for the collaboration include defense and border security operations, Drone as First Responder programs, wildfire and search and rescue response, and critical infrastructure protection across energy, transport, and utilities sectors. The companies will also work on technical integration of RTM platforms with secure communications infrastructure and government-led pilots and regulatory engagement.
"This MOU provides a structured foundation for CiTech and AIRmarket to explore how our combined capabilities can support government and defence stakeholders," said Brenton Scott, CEO of CiTech. "It reflects a shared commitment to safety, sovereignty, and the practical deployment of drone-enabled infrastructure." Lindsay Mohr, CEO of AIRmarket, added that the partnership builds a dual-use foundation for critical infrastructure applications from industrial plants to border security and wildfire response.
The MOU provides for the appointment of points of contact and potential establishment of a joint working group to guide collaboration activities. Any pilots, deployments, or commercial arrangements will be governed by separate definitive agreements subject to applicable regulatory, security, and export control requirements. The collaboration represents a strategic alignment of Canada's national interest with growing investments in resilience, sovereignty, and public safety infrastructure.
