DownTown Mystic's 'On E Street Remix' EP Features Springsteen's Legendary Rhythm Section, Highlighting Artist's Sync-Licensing Success

Sha-La Music announced the release of the On E Street Remix EP by US Roots Rocker DownTown Mystic on April 3. The EP features the Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame rhythm section from Bruce Springsteen's legendary E Street Band—drummer "Mighty" Max Weinberg and bassist Garry Tallent. The On E Street Remix EP will be distributed worldwide by The Orchard/Sony Music and arrives at Non-Com/College Radio on April 7 with Brandon Day/Tinderbox Music handling radio promotion.

The EP contains six tracks, including the thought-provoking Way To Know, the emotionally intense And You Know Why, and the lead single, rocker Hard Enough. The single has been receiving substantial airplay on Worldwide Radio, and the Hard Enough video has surpassed 550,000 views on YouTube. Also included is the explosive Sometimes Wrong, remastered by Leon Zervos (Pink, Crowded House), and the brand new instrumental And You Know Why (TV Mix). What makes the release notable is the rarity of Weinberg and Tallent recording together as a rhythm section for an artist other than Bruce Springsteen.

DownTown Mystic writer/producer Robert Allen's main goal for the EP was to give the tracks a fresh sound and showcase the brilliance of the two E Streeters. The backstory adds historical depth, as the original recordings were made during the same period Weinberg and Tallent were shaping one of the most influential albums in rock history, Born In The USA. Robert and Engineer Joe DeMaio revisited a pivotal moment in Robert's career, remixing the tracks at Shorefire Studios, where they were originally recorded. Robert recalls, "I was trying to develop as a solo artist when we made these recordings. The experience of playing with Max & Garry changed everything for me."

The On E Street Remix EP arrives as DownTown Mystic has been on a creative roll, bringing an old school sound to modern rock. His motto "vintage yet modern" is gaining respect in music circles. This momentum began in 2023 with the AmeriKarma album, which attracted over 3 million streams, followed by RnR 4 The Soul (2024), The Wish (2025), and Mystic Highway (2025). Music supervisors discovered the artist's music with Way To Know, launching a stellar sync-licensing career with over 250 TV shows, starting with The Voice. Sync-licensing success peaked in 2025 with three songs placed in two star-filled movies—Sovereign and Everything's Going To Be Great.

The new EP is expected to solidify DownTown Mystic's critical success. Robert adds, "If you want to make a rock'n'roll statement then who better to do it with? I think E Street is probably the most famous street in rock'n'roll history." Publications like Stereo Stickman note the artist's "classic vibe," while College Radio Charts praise his ability to make rock & roll that "remembers where it came from while still sounding alive, relevant, and ready for another spin." Jamsphere Magazine highlights that the sync success reflects "songwriting that translates across contexts, music that carries cinematic weight and emotional clarity," and The Big Takeover observes, "They say that you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep: DownTown Mystic demonstrably keeps the very best company."

The company has scored sync success with top Music Licensing companies in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Chicago, such as Jingle Punks, Anthem Entertainment, Music of The Sea, Chop Shop Music, Bunim/Murray, and Music Dealers.
