SS Innovations International, Inc. (Nasdaq: SSII) announced it will host the Global Multi-Specialty Robotic Surgery Conference (SMRSC 2026) in New Delhi, India from April 9-11, 2026. This third installment of the event is expected to surpass last year's attendance of over 1,400 in-person and 600 virtual participants from 17 nations, bringing together surgeons, thought leaders, and innovators to shape the future of robotic and minimally invasive surgery.
The conference will feature more than 20 live telesurgeries performed with the SSi Mantra surgical robotic system across multiple specialties. These demonstrations will explore critical aspects of telesurgery including connectivity, latency management, cybersecurity, and clinical protocols. Several procedures will utilize the SSi MantrAsana Tele Surgeon Console, a compact chair-based version of the larger SSi Mantra surgeon command center that enables portability and requires less space, facilitating telesurgeries from various settings including physician offices.
One of the most significant innovations to be showcased is the SSi Vimana Aero drone system, a trauma surgery system currently under development. Designed for battlefield applications, this system aims to bring expert robotic surgical care directly to wounded soldiers in active combat zones. Deployed via a heavy-lift autonomous drone, the SSi Vimana Aero lands near casualties and deploys two miniature robotic arms with seven degrees of freedom. A trauma surgeon remotely operates the system through an SSi Mantra command center to perform procedures including hemorrhage control, wound repair, chest decompression, shrapnel extraction, and field suturing to stabilize patients until evacuation teams arrive.
Project Operion will provide an interactive window into the future of surgical robotic technologies, focusing on enhanced access and training beyond hospital walls, mobile high-tech surgical infrastructure for critical environments, and telesurgery integration combining real-time connectivity with robotic precision. This immersive display of the "Operating Room of the Future" showcases a mobile operating room platform entirely on wheels.
The MantraM Mobile Robotic Telesurgery Unit, designed to bring specialized surgical robotic care and training to patients and medical professionals regardless of location, will be on display. This mobile unit aims to overcome traditional cost and distance hurdles, enabling delivery of world-class surgical care to underserved communities.
Live surgical demonstrations and panel discussions will span multiple specialties including urology, thoracic, gastroenterology, head & neck, gynecology, colorectal, general and pediatric surgery, with separate cardiac-focused breakout sessions. Distinguished guests include Dr. Fred Moll, widely recognized as the "Father of Robotic Surgery," Sri Madhusudan Sai, Dr. Naresh Treahan, Dr. Mylswamy Annadurai, and Dr. Ashutosh Tewari.
Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, Chairman and CEO of SS Innovations, stated that the event will continue to elevate the theme of decentralizing and democratizing access to surgical robotic care. The conference represents a significant step toward making robotic surgery more accessible globally, particularly through technologies that can reach remote or underserved areas.
