Bestselling author Elizabeth Graham, an authority on the Trump-Putin relationship, has released a new analysis arguing that President Donald Trump's corruption is driving the United States into moral decline. In a recent Substack post titled "Corruption," Graham writes that successful anti-authoritarian movements attack corruption by framing the regime as dishonest and morally rotten while reclaiming patriotic symbols. She warns that Trump's political dishonesty—including bribery, graft, and malfeasance—has eroded core American values of truth, justice, and honesty.
Graham points to the Epstein Files Transparency Act, a federal law enacted November 19, 2025, which required the Department of Justice to release investigative records related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein by December 19, 2025. According to a CBS News report from January 8, 2026, by Scott MacFarlane, attention has shifted to the Justice Department's Office of Inspector General as the full release remains pending. Graham asserts that Trump has evaded disclosure through constant diversionary tactics, circumventing justice.
She also criticizes Trump's closure of USAID, which she claims halted all aid to Africa. Citing a study in The Lancet by DM Cavalcanti, Graham estimates that approximately 15 million people could die by 2040 as a result. Additionally, she condemns Trump's treatment of immigrants as based on bigotry and intolerance.
On foreign policy, Graham highlights Trump's failed promises. She references a June 7, 2026, MSN report by Leigh Kimmins noting that Trump's public plea to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to stop attacks on Lebanon was ignored, leading to humiliation. She also cites a CNN fact check from April 25, 2025, showing that Trump claimed 53 times he could end the war in Ukraine in one day, a promise that remains unfulfilled.
Graham draws on a March 4, 2026, statement from the American Bar Association, which said the Trump administration "has exchanged government benefits, appointments, pardons, and policy decisions for financial contributions from wealthy individuals, corporations, and foreign governments, creating an unprecedented pay-to-play culture." She warns that without accountability, such corruption will destroy Americans' faith in democracy, which is exactly what Russian President Vladimir Putin desires.
Graham's book, 'From Democracy To Democrazy: A Warning To All Americans,' has received praise from readers. One Amazon reviewer called it "an excellent book about the threat that Russia poses to America" and noted that "most Americans are so overwhelmed by the fire hose of distractions by Trump's wars, schemes, and corruption that they aren't aware of the ongoing collusion between Trump and Putin." Another reviewer described the book as "a must read to understand how the President in name only is clearly tied to Putin's world." Clare Harwood, a publisher, remarked that Graham "draws not from theory, but from lived experience in authoritarian and communist countries."
