CINCH Studios, a new boutique Pilates and reformer fitness studio, has officially opened its doors at Units D & E, 1870 Altona Rd, Pickering, ON. Founded by Durham Region natives, the studio introduces a modern, inclusive approach to movement by combining comprehensive Pilates training with Durham Region's first high-intensity reformer fitness method under one roof.
The 3,000-square-foot facility features three dedicated classrooms: a Reformer Pilates studio, a signature Cinchformer high-intensity reformer room, and a Mat studio. Additionally, an in-studio Matcha Café provides a welcoming environment for members to connect before and after classes. This design aims to redefine the boutique fitness experience by bringing together multiple movement disciplines in one accessible space, allowing members to build strength, improve mobility, and challenge themselves through offerings such as Reformer Pilates, Mat, Tower, Chair, Barre, Yoga, and the signature Cinchformer method.
“Movement isn't one-size-fits-all. That's why CINCH brings together Pilates, strength training, and recovery under one roof, giving people the flexibility to choose what their body needs that day,” said the CINCH Studios Team.
The Cinchformer method is a low-impact, high-intensity workout that combines slow, controlled movements with dynamic transitions to build strength, endurance, and stamina. Classes are intentionally kept small, with reformer rooms capped at six machines to provide personalized coaching, thoughtful modifications, and a supportive experience for every client.
This opening is significant for Durham Region residents who previously had to travel to Toronto for premium boutique wellness experiences. By bringing such a facility locally, CINCH Studios addresses a gap in the market, offering convenience and connection without the commute. For business and technology leaders, this move reflects a growing trend of specialized fitness concepts expanding into suburban areas, capitalizing on remote work and local community needs.
The studio's philosophy, “For Every Body With A Core,” underscores its commitment to inclusivity, catering to a wide range of fitness levels and preferences. This approach could set a new standard for wellness in the region, potentially influencing other boutique fitness operators to consider similar expansions.
