Clym Environmental Services, LLC celebrated the grand opening of its new processing facility in Frostburg, Maryland, on August 27, 2026, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by more than 100 guests, including elected officials and community leaders. The facility, which will utilize proprietary ozone treatment technology powered by solar energy, is set to process biohazardous material into safe, reusable products, reducing the greenhouse gas emissions associated with traditional thermal treatment methods.
The event included a VIP tour and information stations detailing the ozone treatment technology, as well as a display by Energy Select, the solar company responsible for the facility's renewable energy installation. The ceremony featured remarks from Maryland Commerce Secretary Harry Coker, Allegany County Commissioner Bill Atkinson, and Kelly Schulz, CEO of the Maryland Tech Council, among others.
"Today we celebrate the future," said Juli McCoy, President & CEO of the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce. "Clym Environmental will create living-wage jobs, and its operations, using technology and environmental science, make its proximity to Frostburg State University a perfect fit for the Frostburg Business Park and Allegany County."
The company also received a certificate of congressional recognition from Congresswoman April McClain Delaney's office, with Kendall Abruzzese, Western Maryland Outreach Coordinator, praising Clym's "pioneering work in environmentally friendly and innovative waste management biotechnology."
This new facility represents a major step for Clym, which was recently named the Life Sciences Innovation of the Year winner at the Maryland Tech Council's 2026 ICON Awards. The company, founded in 1998 and serving clients across the eastern and midwestern United States, focuses on regulated waste management and compliance solutions for healthcare, life sciences, and industrial sectors.
