Dadvan Yousuf Launches Pacific Digital Assets Forum to Foster Research and Policy on Digital Finance

Entrepreneur and Trade Commissioner Dadvan Yousuf today announced the launch of the Pacific Digital Assets Forum (PDAF), an independent initiative established to advance research, education and international policy dialogue on digital assets and digital finance across Pacific Island jurisdictions.

The Pacific Digital Assets Forum aims to provide a neutral platform where policymakers, academics, researchers and industry participants can exchange knowledge on regulatory developments, emerging technologies and the future of digital finance. Through evidence-based research and educational initiatives, the Forum seeks to encourage informed discussion and regional cooperation.

Among its first long-term projects is the Pacific Digital Assets Report, an annual publication that will examine regulatory developments, policy trends and innovation across the Pacific. The report will include the Pacific Digital Assets Regulatory Index, designed to provide a comparative overview of digital asset regulatory frameworks throughout Pacific Island jurisdictions.

The Forum also plans to host the Pacific Digital Assets Conference, bringing together government representatives, researchers, financial professionals and industry stakeholders to discuss developments affecting digital assets, financial innovation and international cooperation across the region.

"Effective regulation is not a barrier to innovation. It creates the confidence that innovation needs to grow," said Dadvan Yousuf, Founding Chair of the Pacific Digital Assets Forum. "Our objective is to support independent research, education and constructive dialogue that contributes to a better understanding of digital finance throughout the Pacific."

The Pacific Digital Assets Forum is an independent research and education initiative dedicated to promoting knowledge, international collaboration and evidence-based discussion on digital assets and digital finance. For additional information, visit www.nauru.org.

The launch of the Pacific Digital Assets Forum comes at a critical time as Pacific Island nations grapple with the opportunities and challenges posed by digital assets and decentralized finance. For leaders in business and technology, the Forum represents a significant step toward creating a structured environment for digital asset innovation in the region. By providing a neutral platform for dialogue and evidence-based research, the PDAF could help shape regulatory frameworks that balance innovation with consumer protection, potentially influencing global standards. The annual Pacific Digital Assets Report and Regulatory Index will offer valuable benchmarks for investors and policymakers, while the conference will facilitate networking and knowledge sharing. This initiative underscores the growing importance of digital finance in the Pacific and its potential to drive economic development, financial inclusion, and cross-border cooperation.
