Datavault AI Inc. (NASDAQ: DVLT) announced it will tokenize and monetize Available Infrastructure's Project Qestrel, a nationwide network of cybersecure edge data centers deploying across the United States, using its Information Data Exchange platform and patented tokenization technology. The companies expect the Project Qestrel token ($QEST) program to represent more than $1 billion in tokenized value upon full deployment, providing access and usage rights across the edge AI infrastructure network while supporting secondary market trading. Initial token offerings are targeted for the third quarter of 2026.
Project Qestrel is expected to deploy 1,000 cybersecure edge data centers across 100 U.S. cities and more than 30 states as part of an approximately $5 billion buildout. Datavault AI said the initiative expands its existing relationship with Available Infrastructure and will generate revenue through an equal-sharing arrangement, with Datavault AI providing tokenization, clearing, valuation and exchange services. The companies believe the program represents the industry's first large-scale tokenization of a live-deploying nationwide edge AI infrastructure network, creating a new digital asset class tied to AI compute capacity.
This tokenization approach could fundamentally alter how large-scale infrastructure projects are funded and monetized. By digitizing access rights to compute capacity, Datavault AI is effectively creating a liquid market for AI processing power. For business leaders, this development signals a shift toward decentralized ownership models for critical digital infrastructure. The ability to trade tokens representing edge compute resources could lower barriers for smaller enterprises to access high-performance computing, while providing new investment opportunities in the AI sector.
The move also addresses growing demand for edge computing, which processes data closer to where it is generated rather than in centralized cloud data centers. Edge AI is essential for applications requiring low latency, such as autonomous vehicles, industrial IoT, and real-time analytics. By tokenizing this infrastructure, Datavault AI is positioning itself at the intersection of AI, blockchain, and real-world assets, a convergence that many analysts believe will define the next wave of technological innovation.
Datavault AI's platform serves multiple industries, including high-performance computing software licensing for sports and entertainment, events and venues, biotech, education, fintech, real estate, healthcare, energy and more. The Information Data Exchange enables Digital Twins and the licensing of name, image and likeness by securely attaching physical real-world objects to immutable metadata. The company's technology suite is fully customizable and offers AI- and machine-learning-based automation, third-party integration, detailed analytics and data, marketing automation and advertising monitoring.
For investors, the tokenization of a $1 billion infrastructure project represents a novel asset class that could provide exposure to the growth of edge AI without the need to directly own physical data centers. However, the success of the initiative hinges on regulatory clarity, adoption by enterprises, and the ability to maintain cybersecurity across the distributed network. The third-quarter 2026 timeline for initial token offerings suggests the company is moving deliberately to address these challenges.
