Delivery Hero, the world’s leading local delivery platform, has appointed John Woyton to its Supervisory Board, effective September 9, 2026. Woyton succeeds Scott Ferguson, who stepped down to focus on other commitments, and will assume Ferguson’s seats on the Audit and Strategy Committees. His term runs until the end of the Annual General Meeting 2027. The appointment brings over two decades of private equity and M&A experience across technology, media, and telecommunications to the board, according to the company’s announcement.
Woyton’s career includes roles at The Carlyle Group and Advent International, where he spent nearly 12 years leading the TMT sector team and serving as Partner. From 2021 to 2024, he was a member of the Senior Leadership Team and Managing Director at H.I.G. Capital. In 2025, he co-founded Covalent Equity Partners, a technology-focused private equity firm supporting businesses in the AI era. He is a dual US and British national.
Kristin Skogen Lund, Chair of the Supervisory Board, commented: “We're delighted to welcome John Woyton to the Supervisory Board. His extensive experience investing in and supporting technology businesses through periods of transformation will bring valuable perspective to the Board as Delivery Hero enters its next chapter.” She also thanked Scott Ferguson for his contribution over the last two years.
Woyton added: “Few companies have built the global scale and reach that Delivery Hero has achieved in little over a decade. It operates in a sector that continues to evolve rapidly, with significant opportunities ahead. I’m looking forward to bringing my experience across technology, investment and M&A to the Supervisory Board, and working together on what comes next.”
The appointment matters because Delivery Hero operates in around 65 countries across Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Africa, and is pioneering quick commerce—the next generation of e-commerce aiming to deliver groceries and household goods in under one hour, often in 20 to 30 minutes. As the company expands its own delivery platform on four continents, Woyton’s expertise in technology investments and M&A could be crucial for strategic decisions, particularly as AI transforms logistics and e-commerce. His recent focus on supporting businesses in the AI era aligns with Delivery Hero’s need to innovate amid rapid sector evolution.
For industry leaders, this board change signals Delivery Hero’s intent to sharpen its strategic and audit oversight, potentially leading to more aggressive moves in AI adoption, partnerships, or acquisitions. The company, listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 2017 and part of the MDAX index, faces increasing competition in quick commerce and local delivery. Woyton’s background in private equity and TMT could help navigate these challenges, impacting investors and competitors alike. For more information, visit www.deliveryhero.com.
