Main Event Entertainment, the ultimate destination for family fun, is preparing for the grand opening of its first Minnesota location in Woodbury at the Tamarack Hills (540 Bielenberg Drive) this August. However, the team faces an unexpected challenge: 10 bowling pins have disappeared just days before the big day. The Woodbury Main Event is now calling on the community to help solve the mystery.
The missing shipment never reached its final stop, and time is running out before the August 3 opening. Starting July 19 through July 28, locals can visit Main Event's lost pins page for daily clues as to where the pins are hidden for the chance to win prizes. Each recovered pin unlocks a VIP invite for five and a full year of free games. Whoever finds the Golden Pin takes home the ultimate prize: Main Event for life.
"We are so excited to bring the Main Event experience to Minnesota, but we need the community's detective skills to help us get our lanes ready for action," said Michael Frisby, General Manager of the Woodbury Main Event. "We've hidden these pins throughout Woodbury, and we can't wait to see who can track them down and claim their prize before our grand opening on August 3!"
Main Event Woodbury will bring nonstop entertainment with activities including laser tag, bowling, arcade games, and more. Guests can enjoy a full-service restaurant and bar featuring dishes such as the Buffalo Ranch Chicken Sandwich, Funnel Cake Fries, and drinks like the Cotton Candy Shirley Temple and Margarita Flight. The new venue invites friends and families to enjoy interactive games, friendly competition, and great food and drinks in one high-energy space.
This grand opening marks a significant expansion for Main Event, which is owned and operated by Dave & Buster's Entertainment, Inc. Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Coppell, Texas, Main Event operates over 60 locations in 23 states. Dave & Buster's has 182 stores in 43 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. The combined company offers premier entertainment and dining experiences through two distinct brands, with each store offering a full menu, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, and extensive entertainment attractions centered around games and live sports.
The Woodbury opening underscores the growing demand for experiential entertainment venues, particularly in suburban markets. For business leaders, this move highlights the resilience of the family entertainment sector and the importance of community engagement in driving foot traffic. The scavenger hunt tactic not only builds buzz but also fosters local loyalty—a key factor in the competitive leisure industry. As Main Event and Dave & Buster's continue to expand, their integrated model of dining, gaming, and social experiences positions them to capture a larger share of consumer spending on experiences.
