Nordex Group Secures Over 197 MW in New Orders from ENOVA and BMR in Germany

The Nordex Group has received new orders from ENOVA and BMR energy solutions for the supply and installation of 30 wind turbines with a combined capacity exceeding 197 MW across three German states: Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, and North Rhine-Westphalia. All contracts include Premium Service agreements spanning 20 years, underscoring the long-term commitment of the partners to operational excellence and reliability.

In Boldecker Land, Lower Saxony, ENOVA will undertake a 68 MW repowering project using ten Nordex N163/6.X turbines. Installation is slated to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, with commissioning expected in early 2028. This project exemplifies the trend of repowering older wind farms with more efficient turbines to maximize output from existing sites.

Another project in Schleswig-Holstein will see Nordex supply ENOVA with six N149/5.X turbines totaling 34.2 MW. Construction is scheduled to start in early 2028, with commissioning by mid-2028. These turbines are designed for regions with moderate wind speeds, offering a balance of power and efficiency.

Two additional projects in North Rhine-Westphalia—Nettetal and Breberen—were originally developed by BMR energy solutions. For Nettetal, which BMR sold to ENOVA, Nordex will provide five N163/6.X turbines. Construction is set to begin in October 2027, with commissioning in early 2028. In the Breberen repowering project, ENOVA and BMR are collaborating to replace existing turbines with nine more powerful N163/6.X units, aiming to boost electricity production and site utilization. Installation work at Breberen also starts in October 2027, with commissioning planned for the second quarter of 2028.

Karsten Bruggemann, Vice President Region Europe of the Nordex Group, emphasized the strength of the relationships: “We have built a long-standing and trusting relationship with BMR, which we have successfully developed further through numerous projects. We are therefore all the more pleased to now also implement more joint projects with ENOVA again and to further expand our business relationship. The fact that both partners are relying on our technology and service expertise for these projects is a strong sign of confidence for us.”

Hendrik Böschen, Chief Operations Officer of ENOVA, highlighted the strategic importance: “These projects mark the next milestone in the development of our wind farm portfolio. Together with Nordex and BMR energy solutions, we are bringing demanding projects into implementation in a cooperative, efficient and fast manner. The fact that we are driving several projects of this scale forward in parallel underscores ENOVA’s operational strength and scalability in the German wind energy market.”

The orders come as Germany continues to expand its renewable energy capacity, with onshore wind playing a critical role in the country's energy transition. For the Nordex Group, these contracts reinforce its position as a leading turbine supplier in the German market. The company, which has commissioned over 64 GW of wind capacity globally, operates manufacturing facilities in Germany, Spain, Brazil, India, and the USA. Its product portfolio focuses on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW+ classes, designed for markets with limited space and constrained grid capacity.

ENOVA, a family-owned company, is one of Germany's largest onshore wind farm operators with 1 GW in its own portfolio, supplying around one million households with green electricity. The company aims to build a 3 GW portfolio by 2030 and increase assets under management to EUR 5 billion. BMR energy solutions, based in Geilenkirchen, brings extensive experience in project development and realization, particularly in western Germany.

The long-term service agreements ensure that Nordex will provide maintenance and support for the turbines over two decades, contributing to the reliability and performance of the wind farms. These projects highlight the collaborative efforts among developers, operators, and manufacturers to advance Germany's renewable energy goals.
