ODORUN, a hardware product company based in Newport Beach, California, today announced it will launch its debut product, the ANS-01RM, on Kickstarter on July 14, 2026. The cordless, rechargeable ANS-01RM mounts to a standard toilet and extracts odor at the source before it ever reaches the room, positioning itself as the world's first toilet odor extractor.
Traditional methods of combating bathroom odors have notable shortcomings. Ceiling fans dilute odors into the room, sprays merely cover them with a secondary scent, and filters recirculate the same air. The ANS-01RM captures odor at the bowl and vents it outside via the toilet's existing plumbing, preventing the odor from entering the room altogether.
“Fans spread it. Sprays mask it. Filters recycle it. ODORUN removes it,” the company stated. The device features a touchless wave on/off sensor with an auto shut-off after 90 seconds, and installation is described as simple and DIY-friendly, requiring about an hour. It is refill-free with no ongoing costs, and operates without chemicals, eliminating added health risks.
Michael Huang, founder of ODORUN, explained the product's origin: “We're a small hardware team, and this product came out of a simple question: why has bathroom odor control barely changed in decades, while almost everything else in the home has gotten smarter? Fans and sprays were never designed to pull odor out of the house at the source. ODORUN is the first product built to actually do it.”
The Kickstarter campaign will open on July 14, 2026, offering the public the first opportunity to back and pre-order the ANS-01RM. Details and updates are available at www.odorun.com. An introduction video of ODORUN can also be viewed at the website.
The implications of this launch are significant for the bathroom fixture industry and for consumers seeking effective, long-term odor solutions. Unlike existing products that require ongoing purchases of filters or sprays, the ANS-01RM offers a permanent, chemical-free solution. This could disrupt the market for air fresheners and fan systems, potentially reducing waste and recurring costs for households. Business leaders in home improvement and sanitation should note the innovation as a new category in bathroom ventilation, one that tackles odor at its source rather than merely managing its spread.
ODORUN's debut product may set a new standard for bathroom hygiene, appealing to environmentally conscious consumers and those with sensitivities to chemical sprays. The company's focus on source-level extraction through existing plumbing suggests a scalable technology that could be adopted in residential and commercial settings, potentially influencing future building codes or renovation trends.
