The PNE Group has emerged successful in the latest French tender, securing the “Oinville-Saint-Liphard” wind farm project in the Centre-Val de Loire region. The project, comprising four wind turbines with a total capacity of 22 MW, was selected among 39 awarded projects with a combined capacity of 808 MW. The tender, the eleventh under the PPE2 programme, saw 144 bids representing 2.38 GW of capacity, making it a highly competitive round.
Roland Stanze, Chief Operating Officer of PNE AG, emphasized the significance of the win, stating, “We are very pleased that we were able to prevail in a highly competitive tender. This once again demonstrates the excellent work being done by our French team on the ground. Following the sale of the ‘Romescamps’ wind farm, this is the next success for us within just a few days in one of our most important core markets and once again confirms our strategy.”
The timing of the tender was critical. After a nearly one-year pause following the July 2025 tender round, in which PNE France secured the “Chery” and “Romescamps” projects, the French government announced the relaunch of tenders in early April 2026. This followed the publication of the multiannual energy plan PPE3. The “Oinville-Saint-Liphard” wind farm had received approval in May, just in time for submission, with the permit granted in only 15 months.
For business leaders, this development underscores the importance of France as a core market for renewable energy project developers. The country's renewed commitment to wind energy, evidenced by the swift approval process and the launch of PPE3, signals a favorable regulatory environment for onshore wind projects. This could encourage further investment in France's renewable energy sector, particularly for companies with established local expertise like PNE.
The PNE Group, an international project developer listed on the SDAX, has over 30 years of experience in onshore wind farms. The company operates as a Clean Energy Solutions Provider, offering services across the entire life cycle of wind and photovoltaic plants, including battery storage solutions. This win not only reinforces PNE's market position but also demonstrates the viability of onshore wind as a competitive energy source in France.
For industry stakeholders, the result of this tender round indicates that despite high competition, well-prepared projects with efficient permitting can succeed. The 15-month approval time for Oinville-Saint-Liphard sets a benchmark for future developments. Moreover, the inclusion of 39 projects with 808 MW in this round suggests a robust pipeline for France's renewable energy targets, which could impact energy pricing and grid stability in the region.
