PoKeep has released a free Pokémon GO Evolution Calculator, offering players a way to project post-evolution CP and HP before committing candy and stardust to a species that may not be worth powering up. The tool addresses a common planning dilemma: a catch looks promising, but it is unclear whether evolving it immediately or investing more dust first will produce a Pokémon worth keeping.
Users begin by selecting a species, entering the current CP shown in the summary screen, and aligning the tool's Attack, Defense, and HP appraisal controls with what appears in-game. From those inputs, PoKeep estimates the Pokémon's level, then maps the same individual values onto the evolved form to display expected CP and HP at that stage. Unlike companion apps that require game credentials, PoKeep's calculator is web-only—numbers are entered manually, and nothing connects to a trainer's Pokémon GO account.
The calculator offers several key capabilities. It provides formula-based estimates that draw on species base stats and the same CP relationship used in Pokémon GO, rather than relying on rough tier lists or community spreadsheets. Results can show both the pre-evolution and post-evolution Pokémon together, including sprites and stat readouts, making the outcome easy to scan at a glance. Once a match is found, a level control lets users shift up or down and watch how current CP, evolved CP, and HP move in parallel—helpful when debating an extra power-up. The database includes standard evolution chains and Mega-eligible species, and the species picker accepts queries in English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, speeding up lookup on any regional PoKeep site. Regional pages for English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese share the same interaction model while using localized copy and imagery.
A typical workflow involves opening the calculator, selecting the Pokémon to evolve, typing in CP and setting the three IV bar values to mirror the appraisal screen, then running the calculation. After reviewing the evolved stat preview, users can drag the Level control to test “evolve now” versus “power up first.” “Evolution is often irreversible, so the cost of guessing is real,” a PoKeep spokesperson said. “We built this so trainers can sanity-check an evolve before the candy is gone—not as a replacement for playing, but as a quick planning step.”
The Evolution Calculator is accessible in English at https://www.pokeep.com/evolution-calculator/, in Japanese at https://jp.pokeep.com/evolution-calculator/, and in Traditional Chinese at https://tw.pokeep.com/evolution-calculator/. PoKeep also maintains a separate IV Calculator at https://www.pokeep.com/iv-calculator/ for deeper individual-value analysis. PoKeep creates guides and lightweight utilities for Pokémon GO and related mobile experiences, with a focus on tools that work without forcing registration when a simple browser session is enough.
