Puerto Rico's Day at the Ballpark, a nationwide series celebrating the island's deep connection to baseball, continues its 2026 tour with three upcoming events in Colorado, Chicago, and Los Angeles. Presented by Discover Puerto Rico and produced by 21 Events, the series recognizes Puerto Rican players who have left their mark on the game while offering fans a taste of the island's culture and heritage.
The series will visit Coors Field in Colorado on August 18, Rate Field in Chicago on August 22, and Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on August 23. Each event features unique in-stadium experiences, player recognitions, and Puerto Rico-themed elements, building on a tradition that has celebrated the island's baseball history since 2023.
At Coors Field, the Colorado Rockies will host the celebration, featuring Willi Castro and Coach Andy González. The event includes a first pitch by Benjamin Oaks, owner of Aguanile, the first Puerto Rican dinner club in Denver, along with an on-field presentation, scoreboard features, and fan engagement activities.
In Chicago, the New York Mets will face the Chicago White Sox, with the event recognizing legendary ballplayer Roberto Hernandez. Award-winning Puerto Rican chef Monti Carlo will throw out the first pitch, and fans can expect on-field presentations and in-stadium activations highlighting Puerto Rico's contributions to baseball.
The Los Angeles stop at Dodger Stadium will honor Kiké Hernández and Edwin Diaz. Puerto Rican model and former Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2020, Estefanía Soto, will throw the first pitch, and the event will include an on-field presentation and additional experiences connecting fans with Puerto Rico's baseball tradition.
All stadiums will display a 60-second scoreboard video showcasing the beauty and heritage of the island. Jorge L. Pérez, CEO of Discover Puerto Rico, emphasized the island's enduring legacy in baseball, noting recent Hall of Fame inductee Carlos Beltrán as the sixth Puerto Rican to receive that honor.
The series also offers fans a chance to experience Puerto Rico firsthand through the Ballpark to Island Giveaway, which includes a trip for two with airfare, hotel, and special experiences. The giveaway is open to U.S. residents 18 and over, with entry available at discoverpuertorico.com/ballpark-to-island.
Ralph Paniagua, Managing Director of 21 Events, highlighted the series' ability to tell different stories in each city, recognizing that Puerto Rico's baseball history spans multiple players, generations, and ballparks. The events aim to honor those contributions in front of fans and communities that remember them.
Since its debut in 2023, Puerto Rico's Day at the Ballpark has grown into a signature national series. Following the August events, the 2026 series will continue in September with its final scheduled stop of the season.
