SBF AG, a listed specialist in rolling stock, lighting, electromechanics, and sensor technology, has announced two new product innovations aimed at accelerating growth in its Sensor Technology and Electromechanics segment. The enhanced Automatic Label Feeder (ALF) and the automatic optical inspection system INSPECT are designed to address the megatrends of automation and digitalization, offering industrial customers field-tested solutions that improve efficiency and quality.
Both products were developed in-house and are now being commercialized as market-ready solutions. According to Robert Stocklinger, Member of the Management Board of SBF AG, these innovations demonstrate the company's commitment to combining technological expertise with direct customer benefit. "We are now even better positioned for the future with these product developments. INSPECT takes quality assurance in electronics manufacturing to a new level of automation. Solutions with high customer value and clear efficiency potential are exactly the kind of innovation with which the SBF Group aims to grow," he said.
The Automatic Label Feeder sets a standard for precise, reliable labeling in industrial manufacturing. Originally created for internal use in electronics production, ALF has evolved into an independent product line due to strong customer demand. The latest enhancement enables fully automated labeling of glass vials, opening up new target industries such as pharmaceuticals, laboratory diagnostics, and fine chemicals. The platform architecture of ALF allows flexible adaptation to different production processes, creating a foundation for further growth.
INSPECT, the new optical inspection system, automates quality inspection of electronic assemblies after SMD assembly. It uses a high-resolution camera to capture the assembled circuit board, and its software independently identifies fiducial marks, component positions, and orientations. The system reads all standard barcode and 2D code formats and automatically documents inspection results. Set-up takes only minutes, and calibration and operating data are retained during updates. The system's robustness has been improved to ensure reliable operation even during hardware failures.
These innovations highlight SBF's approach to development: technologies first optimized for internal manufacturing processes are then brought to market, creating additional sales and growth potential. This strategy strengthens the company's product portfolio, which is geared toward the needs of industrial customers, and reinforces its expertise in automation and digitalization across all business segments.
The SBF Group, a listed company, is a specialist in innovative solutions for rolling stock, lighting, electromechanics, and sensor technology. Its portfolio benefits from megatrends such as mobility, climate protection, automation, and digitalization. The company's new products are expected to enhance its competitive position and provide value to customers seeking to improve their manufacturing processes.
