SS Innovations Reports Record Q2 Revenue Driven by Surgical Robot Installations

SS Innovations International (NASDAQ: SSII) has reported record second-quarter 2026 revenue of $13.9 million, a 39.4% increase from $10 million in the same period last year. The growth is attributed to a 30.4% rise in installations of its SSi Mantra surgical robotic system, which reached 30 units during the quarter. Gross profit climbed 20% to $7.1 million, with a gross margin of 50.9%. The company posted a net loss of $2.7 million, or $0.01 per diluted share, compared to a net loss of $0.3 million a year earlier.

For the first half of 2026, revenue surged 65.6% to $25 million, while SSi Mantra installations rose 47.4% to 56. As of June 30, SS Innovations held $13.6 million in cash and cash equivalents, with no long-term debt and a cumulative installed base of 224 systems across 12 countries. The company also reported 12,272 cumulative procedures using the SSi Mantra, including 175 telesurgeries. Notably, a robotic telesurgery was recently completed spanning more than 13,600 miles between Colombia and India.

The company expects the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to complete its review of the SSi Mantra's 510(k) premarket notification by the end of the first quarter of 2027. Additionally, SS Innovations believes it can obtain European Union CE marking certification by the end of 2026. These regulatory milestones are critical for expanding the system's availability in major markets.

The robust financial performance and expanding global footprint underscore the growing demand for affordable robotic surgical solutions. SS Innovations aims to make robotic surgery accessible to a larger segment of the population, particularly in emerging markets where cost and training barriers have limited adoption. The company's telesurgery capabilities could revolutionize access to specialized surgical care in remote areas, potentially reducing disparities in healthcare delivery.

For industry leaders, the implications are significant. The SSi Mantra's success indicates a shift toward cost-effective robotic systems that can compete with established players. The FDA and CE marking approvals could open doors to lucrative markets, intensifying competition. Moreover, the advancement in telesurgery might pave the way for cross-border surgical collaborations, raising questions about regulatory frameworks and liability.

Investors should note the company's strong revenue growth and expanding installed base, but also the widening net loss. The path to profitability will depend on sustaining installation momentum and achieving regulatory approvals. As SS Innovations continues to scale, its ability to manage costs and navigate regulatory hurdles will be key to long-term success.
