tonies Expands Audio Ecosystem with Launch of Toniebox Lite at Lower Price Point

tonies SE, the globally leading interactive audio platform for children, announced today the launch of Toniebox Lite, a new device designed to deliver its core listening experience in a smaller, lighter format at a more accessible price point. The device expands the company's growing ecosystem, which now includes multiple devices, as tonies moves beyond a single-product strategy to offer a versatile suite of audio solutions for families.

Toniebox Lite is certified for children aged 1 and older and is compatible with every Tonie ever released, giving families immediate access to a library of more than 1,500 Tonies and over 3,500 digital titles. This includes content from global licensing partners such as Disney, Warner Bros., and NBC Universal, as well as tonies Originals. The device will launch first in North America, with pre-orders beginning today through tonies.com and walmart.com. First deliveries and in-store availability at Walmart start on August 22, with additional North American channels rolling out through September and October. Market introductions in the UK, Australia, and New Zealand are planned for fall 2026.

The introduction of Toniebox Lite marks the first proof point of tonies' strategy to build an ecosystem consisting of multiple devices, a rich above-the-box portfolio, and accessories. It complements the flagship Toniebox 2, which launched just a year ago and offers enhanced features such as interactive Tonieplay gaming, a dynamic light ring, and bedtime features including a sleep timer and sunrise alarm. While Toniebox 2 provides the full tonies experience with screen-free gaming and daily routine support, Toniebox Lite focuses on delivering the core listening experience in a more portable form.

Tobias Wann, CEO of tonies, stated, "As parents increasingly seek mindful alternatives to passive screen time, we see a tremendous opportunity to champion the power of listening, spark imagination, foster independence and curiosity. To bring the benefits of audio to even more families, we are building a growing ecosystem that for the first time includes multiple devices—each of them designed for different family needs, while being connected by the same trusted world of stories, songs, characters, and play experiences. With Toniebox Lite, we open the door to that world for more families than ever."

Ginny McCormick, CXO of tonies, added, "Childhood rarely stands still. It unfolds across family vacations, visits with grandparents, and everyday adventures in between. Toniebox Lite’s simple, portable design allows families to bring the tonies experience wherever childhood happens. For existing families, it expands how and where they can enjoy our platform. For new families, it offers an introduction to the benefits of playing, learning, growing up ears-first."

The launch of Toniebox Lite reflects tonies' commitment to accelerating its innovation cadence and extending its platform to meet diverse family needs. Alongside its expanding device portfolio, tonies continues to invest in new content experiences, including My First Tonies, interactive Tonieplay games, and partnerships with brands like Bluey and Pokémon. The company reports that on average, children engage with tonies for approximately 280 minutes per week, underscoring the platform's role as a trusted everyday companion.

For business leaders, this move signals tonies' strategic shift toward a multi-device ecosystem, which could strengthen its competitive position in the children's audio market by appealing to price-sensitive consumers and enabling broader market penetration. With over 12.2 million Tonieboxes and 165 million Tonies sold worldwide, and group revenue of EUR 630 million in FY 2025 (up 31% year-over-year), tonies guides for FY 2026 group revenue above EUR 760 million, representing 20% growth in constant currency, and an adjusted EBITDA margin of 9 to 11%. The expansion of its device portfolio may drive further adoption and revenue growth, particularly in North America, its largest market.
