Desert Sky Roofing, a veteran-owned roofing company that has served Tucson families for years, has officially rebranded as DSR Roofing. The company announced the name change on June 13, 2026, assuring customers that while the name is shorter, the core values and standards remain the same.
Owner Bill Kimbley, who served more than 20 years in the U.S. Air Force before starting the company with his son, explained the rationale behind the change. "We simplified the name to better reflect who we've become," Kimbley said. "But the heart of it doesn't change. Tucson is home. These are our neighbors."
DSR Roofing's mission centers on protecting homeowners from unethical contractors through what the company calls "legendary roofing experiences." This approach encompasses every interaction, from initial inspection to final walkthrough, with the goal of providing service worth talking about. The company's five core values—Results, Accountability, Integrity, Serving others, and Excellence—guide its operations and are evident in its track record of completing more than 2,500 roofs across Southern Arizona.
The rebranding does not alter the company's operational standards. DSR Roofing continues to hire for character before skills, as skills can be taught but character cannot. The company maintains military-standard execution on residential roofs, showing up on time, doing the job right, and cleaning up thoroughly. This commitment has led to strong customer relationships, with many initial clients becoming friends and even family over the years.
DSR Roofing offers a comprehensive range of services, including tile, shingle, and flat roof repair and replacement, roof coatings, skylight work, emergency repairs, and honest roof inspections. The company holds a BBB A+ rating and certifications from Tamko Pro Gold, TRC Master Applicator, and the Tile Roofing Industry Alliance, along with Arizona ROC licensing.
Beyond its core business, DSR Roofing is dedicated to giving back to the community. The company returns a share of its profits to local nonprofits, donated a roof through Military Makeover with Montel, and offers discounts to veterans, senior citizens, and first responders.
Kimbley emphasized that the name change does not signal a shift in mission. "I can go home at night and lay my head down and know that I did the very best I could for those who put their trust in me," he said. "Our name has changed, but our mission hasn't."
For Tucson homeowners, the rebranding is a non-event in terms of service quality. The same crews, same standards, and same commitment to ethical practices remain. DSR Roofing plans to continue serving Southern Arizona roofs for many years, maintaining the trust built over thousands of projects.
