Verizon Announces Final Free Ticket Drop for FIFA World Cup 2026, Offers FOX One Perks

Verizon, the Official Telecommunication Services Sponsor for FIFA World Cup 2026, announced its largest free ticket giveaway for customers, with over 2,500 free tickets across all 64 matches to be released on June 1. The drop, described as the last chance prior to the tournament, will include hundreds of “Golden Tickets” for pitchside access. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis exclusively through Verizon Access in the My Verizon app, and are optimized for customers to win tickets to games closest to their home, as accounts can only claim tickets to matches within 150 miles of their home address.

The announcement marks Verizon’s biggest ticket drop yet, following thousands of free tickets already distributed. To promote the giveaway, Verizon debuted a new commercial featuring David Beckham, emphasizing that Verizon is the only way to get “Ultimate Access” to the tournament. “At Verizon, we’re obsessed with giving our customers access and experiences that are above and beyond,” said Leslie Berland, Chief Marketing Officer, Verizon. “This is our biggest FIFA World Cup ticket drop yet for the most highly anticipated sporting event.”

The ticket drop will occur on June 1 at 3:00 PM ET / 2:00 PM CT / 12:00 PM PT, covering every U.S. host city. Specific matches and times are listed for Pacific Time cities (Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco Bay Area), Central Time cities (Kansas City, Dallas, Houston), and East Coast cities (Boston, Atlanta, New York New Jersey, Miami, Philadelphia). Travel and accommodation are not included.

In addition to tickets, Verizon is enhancing the viewing experience with FOX One perks. New Verizon Home Internet customers can get three months of FOX One on us, while myPlan customers can add FOX One as a monthly perk for $15/month, a savings of nearly $5 off the standard retail price. FOX One provides live and on-demand content of sports, news, and entertainment.

Verizon is also powering the tournament with advanced 5G and fiber technology, delivering connectivity upgrades across all host stadiums and Fan Festivals. The company is building the digital backbone of the FIFA World Cup 2026, as detailed on its website.

For business and technology leaders, this announcement underscores Verizon’s strategy to leverage major events to drive customer loyalty and upsell services. The free ticket giveaway is a powerful marketing tool to attract and retain subscribers, while the FOX One perks create a new revenue stream through premium content. The connectivity upgrades also highlight Verizon’s role in enabling large-scale digital experiences, which could set a precedent for future events. The exclusive nature of the ticket drop, limited to Verizon customers, may pressure competitors to offer similar incentives, potentially reshaping customer acquisition tactics in the telecom industry.
