Viromed Medical AG, a medical technology company specializing in cold plasma technology, has entered into an exclusive global distribution partnership with NEBU-TEC International med. Produkte Eike Kern GmbH to commercialize its PulmoPlas platform for veterinary applications. The collaboration combines Viromed's cold plasma technology with NEBU-TEC's nebulization solutions, with an initial focus on treating pulmonary diseases in horses. The market launch of PulmoPlas vet is scheduled for later in 2026, and no regulatory approval is required for this veterinary application.
The partnership grants NEBU-TEC worldwide exclusive distribution rights for veterinary uses, strengthening the commercialization basis for Viromed's cold plasma technology. NEBU-TEC, a globally active medical technology company with 30 years of experience in aerosol medicine, develops, manufactures, and distributes inhalation devices for both human and veterinary medicine. The company's devices are Class IIa medical devices under the EU Medical Device Regulation (MDR), which also enables potential future human applications when combined with PulmoPlas med.
Uwe Perbandt, CEO of Viromed Medical AG, stated: "The partnership with NEBU-TEC represents an important step in the international commercialization of our PulmoPlas platform. Combining our cold plasma technology with NEBU-TEC's nebulization expertise opens up new fields of application in veterinary medicine and, going forward, also for applications in human medicine." Eike Kern, Managing Director of NEBU-TEC, emphasized: "The combination of inhalative application and cold plasma opens up new therapeutic possibilities. By bringing together complementary technologies, we are creating innovative and safe concepts for the treatment of both animals and humans."
This agreement addresses a significant market opportunity in equine veterinary medicine. Respiratory diseases are widespread among horses, particularly in the European equine market and equestrian sports, where there is high demand for effective and practical solutions. By targeting this segment, Viromed aims to capture substantial market potential while laying the groundwork for future expansion into human medicine applications.
The partnership is part of Viromed's broader strategy to expand its strategic partnerships in cold plasma technology and position PulmoPlas in additional international markets and fields of application. Viromed, listed on the stock exchange since October 2022, focuses on the distribution of innovative cold plasma technology for medical applications through its wholly owned subsidiary Viromed Medical GmbH. The company has a broad customer base in the DACH region and beyond.
For leaders in business and technology, this collaboration highlights the growing convergence of advanced medical technologies with veterinary applications, potentially opening new revenue streams for cold plasma and inhalation therapy developers. The successful commercialization in equine medicine could pave the way for regulatory pathways and market acceptance in human respiratory treatments, making this a development to watch for those interested in the intersection of biotech, aerosol medicine, and animal health.
