Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has announced the first phase of exploration at its 100% owned White Star Tungsten Project in Elko County, Nevada, a past-producing tungsten-molybdenum skarn property. The program, pending final approval from the Canadian Securities Exchange, includes property-wide surveys designed to define drill targets and support permitting.

The White Star Project is located approximately nine miles southwest of Jarbidge, adjacent to the company's Rowland Tungsten Project. Together, the properties cover more than six kilometers of prospective tungsten-bearing horizons. The Mission Cross Mine, the historical producer on the White Star property, recorded approximately 1,000 tons of ore assaying up to 1.0% WO3, according to USGS Bulletin 105. Western Star believes this represents part of a larger system.

The 2026 work program will include a high-resolution UAV magnetometer survey and a property-wide soil geochemistry campaign. These represent the first modern geophysical and geochemical surveys on the project since the Mission Cross Mine shut down in the 1950s. The company plans to integrate historical data from sources such as the USGS Mineral Resources Data System (MRDS ID 10197459) and NBMG bulletins with modern datasets.

CEO Blake Morgan stated, “White Star Property surrounds a documented past producer in a tungsten district that has never been evaluated using modern geophysics or systematic geochemistry. Our plan is straightforward: fly the property with a high-resolution drone magnetic survey and use soil geochemistry to define the true scale of the tungsten system.” He added that running this in parallel with Rowland gives shareholders a single, integrated district story across the Jarbidge and Charleston mining districts.

The geology at White Star is a contact metamorphic tungsten-molybdenum skarn system, similar to Rowland. Regional geology includes Paleozoic sedimentary rocks intruded by a Cretaceous quartz monzonite stock, overlain by Tertiary rhyolite flows. Historical mapping indicates structural controls from intrusive contacts and faults, but modern geophysics is needed to refine interpretations.

The UAV magnetic survey aims to map intrusive contacts, structural trends, and concealed skarn targets. The soil geochemistry campaign will detect dispersion patterns from mineralized zones, especially where bedrock is obscured. Results will be used to define drill targets and support a Notice of Intent to the U.S. Forest Service for future drilling.

The company is advancing permitting in parallel with the 2026 program, aiming to position the project for drill testing once datasets are integrated. The acquisition of White Star remains subject to final CSE approval.

This exploration program is significant for the tungsten market, as it targets a historically productive area with modern techniques. Tungsten is a critical mineral used in industrial applications, and new domestic sources could reduce reliance on imports. For investors, Western Star offers exposure to a district-scale tungsten opportunity in Nevada, a mining-friendly jurisdiction.
