Comcast has announced its RISE program will extend comprehensive grant packages valued at $3 million to 100 small businesses in the Wasatch Front region of Utah. This initiative is designed to support local entrepreneurship by offering a blend of financial assistance, technology upgrades, and marketing resources. The grant packages include a $5,000 monetary grant, a technology makeover featuring computer equipment and internet services, a professionally produced 30-second television commercial, media strategy consultation, and access to online entrepreneurial education resources for 12 months.
Small businesses in Bluffdale, Draper, Herriman, Riverton, Sandy, South Jordan, West Jordan, and White City are eligible to apply for the program between May 1 and May 31 through the Comcast RISE website. This effort is part of a broader national initiative by Comcast to support 100 local businesses in five regions across the country, contributing to a total of 14,000 entrepreneurs assisted since the program's inception in 2020.
J.D. Keller, senior vice president of Comcast's Mountain West Region, highlighted the significance of small businesses as engines of economic development. The RISE program is a component of Comcast's Project UP, which aims to enhance digital opportunities and pave the way for a future filled with possibilities. Tenisha Hicks, owner of Isha Recovery and Sculpt and a past beneficiary of the Comcast RISE program, shared how the initiative was instrumental in navigating the challenges of uncertain times, enhancing her business's visibility and sustainability.
The Comcast RISE program's comprehensive approach addresses the multifaceted challenges small businesses face today, offering not just immediate financial relief but also long-term tools for business development.
