Domestic Violence Services of Snohomish County (DVS) has partnered with Comcast Business to significantly enhance its technological infrastructure, a move that promises to bolster the organization's ability to support survivors of domestic violence. This collaboration introduces Ethernet Dedicated Internet (EDI) and Voice Mobility Solutions to DVS, ensuring reliable, high-speed internet and phone services essential for the organization's operations.
The upgrade is critical for DVS, which operates the only 52-bed confidential emergency shelter in Snohomish County, Washington, for individuals facing imminent danger from intimate partner violence. Lauren Stiger, Development and Volunteer Manager of DVS, highlighted the importance of reliable technology in maintaining 24/7 connections with survivors, emphasizing the role of Comcast Business's services in ensuring that survivors always have a safe place to turn.
Comcast Business's Voice Mobility Solutions are particularly vital for DVS's crisis hotline, the primary tool for connecting with those affected by domestic violence, as online methods may not always be safe. Additionally, the EDI service supports DVS's expanding programs aimed at community awareness and education on healthy relationships, including school visits and online webinars.
Rob Brenner, Vice President of Comcast Business for the Pacific Northwest Region, expressed pride in supporting DVS's mission to build healthier communities. This partnership exemplifies how businesses can contribute to social causes by providing essential services that enhance the impact of nonprofit organizations. With improved technological resources, DVS is better positioned to fulfill its mission of fostering a safe environment for healing and growth among domestic violence survivors.
