Comcast has announced a significant expansion of its Comcast RISE program, targeting small businesses in Southeast Texas with a package of grants and support services valued at $500,000. This initiative is designed to bolster 100 eligible small businesses in Houston through financial grants, technology upgrades, marketing assistance, and educational resources. The program underscores Comcast's commitment to fostering economic growth and digital equity in local communities.
Loren Hudson, SVP and Chief Diversity Officer at Comcast, highlighted the critical role small businesses play in the economy and community development. The Comcast RISE program aims to provide these businesses with the tools and resources needed to thrive in a competitive marketplace. From May 1 to May 31, small businesses in Houston can apply for the program at www.ComcastRISE.com, where they stand a chance to receive a comprehensive grant package.
The grant package includes a $5,000 monetary grant, production and media placement of a 30-second TV commercial, a 12-month technology makeover from Comcast Business, coaching sessions, and access to online entrepreneurship courses. These resources are tailored to help small businesses scale their operations, enhance their digital presence, and connect with broader audiences.
Ashley Gomez, co-founder of 132 Design and a previous beneficiary of the Comcast RISE program, shared how the initiative transformed her business. The program not only provided financial and technological support but also integrated her business into a supportive community, opening up new opportunities for growth and collaboration.
