The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) organized the GreenBiz HK campaign in Bangkok, comprising a forum, networking events, and business matching meetings alongside a Hong Kong Green Team delegation. The campaign aims to foster collaboration between Hong Kong and Thailand in the green economy. The GreenBiz HK Forum attracted over 550 representatives from government and business across Thailand, with Bangkok Governor Dr Chadchart Sittipunt as Guest of Honour.
Anna Cheung, Assistant Executive Director of the HKTDC, stated that Hong Kong's ecosystem for green innovation combines policy support with strong finance flows, targeted R&D funding, dedicated innovation clusters, and scalable solutions. The forum promoted exchange in green finance, green technology, supply chain, and sustainable smart city development, strengthening Hong Kong-Thai economic ties while showcasing Hong Kong's role as an international green finance and innovation hub. Governor Sittipunt emphasized that the green transition requires strong partnerships and collective action across sectors, calling the forum an important platform connecting Hong Kong's strengths with Bangkok's sustainable development ambitions.
In the "Hong Kong-Thailand Partnerships for Sustainability and Innovation" plenary session, leading figures explored cross-border collaboration. Ms Chaoni Huang of the Hong Kong Green Finance Association and HSBC, Dr Kang Qu of Bank of China (Hong Kong), Dr Kim Mak of ATAL Engineering Group, and Mr John Lo of the Asia Carbon Institute highlighted Hong Kong's strengths as an international green finance hub and demonstrated how innovative financing tools accelerate corporate ESG transformation. Mr Huang Weiwei of Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Group noted how Hong Kong's capital platforms, professional services, and global connectivity can support Thai enterprises in advancing the Bio–Circular–Green economic model and expanding overseas.
Two concurrent breakout sessions deepened cooperation in sustainable technology and future city development. The "Driving a Sustainable Tomorrow through Green Technology and Integrated Design" session featured speakers from the Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute, Henderson Land, Arup, and Otherland Limited discussing integrated design and innovative technologies for citywide decarbonisation. Dr Krithpaka Boonfueng of Thailand's National Innovation Agency shared Thailand's smart city progress and expressed interest in leveraging Hong Kong's multi-disciplinary strengths. The second session examined green building standards, low-carbon construction, and regional green supply chain developments.
Through targeted business matching, participants translated forum dialogue into concrete partnership opportunities, supporting progress in green technology, urban innovation, and energy transition. The GreenBiz HK campaign is part of the Economic and Trade Express platform helping Hong Kong SMEs explore overseas markets while attracting investment to Hong Kong. The campaign's networking luncheon was supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Bangkok.
The Hong Kong Green Team delegation, co-led by Anna Cheung and Ir Dr Lo Wai Kwok, comprised 18 delegates representing integrated green services including architecture, engineering, smart city development, ESG advisory, and green technology. Meetings with industry associations and major developers like the Thai Green Building Institute, The Eastern Economic Corridor Office of Thailand, WHA Industrial Development, and TPI Polene Public Company Limited provided partnership exploration opportunities.
GreenBiz HK brings together Hong Kong's green service providers across green finance, ESG advisory, green building, property technology, and smart city solutions, fostering cross-sector collaboration. The initiative encourages businesses to leverage Hong Kong's mature capital market, financial expertise, and professional services to support green investment, certification, and development. The HKTDC will continue using this platform to organize business missions, conferences, and networking activities, supporting enterprises in Southeast Asia and the Chinese Mainland in leveraging Hong Kong's finance and innovation strengths to expand internationally and advance regional sustainable development.
