Circus Appoints Former Compass Group Executive to Supervisory Board to Scale Autonomous Robotics

Circus SE, a German dual-use technology company specializing in autonomous robotics and AI, has announced the appointment of Jurgen Thamm to its Supervisory Board. Thamm, a former Regional Director for Continental Europe and member of the Executive Committee at Compass Group, brings more than two decades of experience in global food service operations. He was elected at the company's Annual General Meeting with 98.35% shareholder approval, according to a press release.

Thamm's appointment comes at a pivotal time for Circus as it accelerates the rollout of its autonomous meal supply robotics. Ten months after launching commercial operations, the company is on track to have over 50 autonomous systems operational across nine countries by year-end, with deployments spanning both enterprise and defence customers, including the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) and Ukrainian ground forces.

The strategic addition of Thamm is expected to bolster Circus's operational governance as it scales. His extensive background in managing complex, distributed food operations across multiple markets will be instrumental in guiding the company's growth. "Circus has built something rare: a robotics and AI platform that is already proving itself in the field, from defence deployments to enterprise rollouts. Having advised the Company since 2024, I've seen the pace of execution firsthand. I'm joining the Supervisory Board to help Circus scale that same discipline as it moves into its next phase of growth," said Thamm.

Nikolas Bullwinkel, CEO and Founder of Circus, highlighted the value Thamm brings: "Jurgen has watched Circus scale from close up for almost two years. His industry insights across dozens of markets is exactly what we need on the board as we accelerate our rollout and deepen our position in defence and enterprise."

Thamm succeeds Mark Harre, who served on the board for nearly three years. Circus expressed gratitude for Harre's contributions to the company's growth.

This leadership change underscores Circus's commitment to scaling its autonomous systems, which are designed to provide food supply solutions for civilian and defence applications. The company's proprietary AI models and central operating platform aim to establish infrastructure for autonomous food supply, with a mission to "fuel humanity."

The appointment of a seasoned executive from the food service industry is a significant step for Circus as it seeks to expand its footprint in both enterprise and defence sectors. This move is likely to enhance investor confidence and position the company for sustained growth in the autonomous robotics market.
