Inaugural Chinatown Creator Awards Draws Record Crowd, Honoring Influencers Shaping Las Vegas' Spring Mountain Corridor

Las Vegas, NV – The inaugural Chinatown Creator Awards, held on August 27 at COYA Living, drew an over-capacity crowd, honoring 20 creators whose work has significantly boosted the cultural and economic vitality of the Spring Mountain Road corridor. The event, co-hosted by COYA Living and ChinatownVegas.com, brought together photographers, videographers, food personalities, digital storytellers, chefs, restaurant owners, and community partners in a celebration of digital influence and neighborhood pride.

Writer, film director, and City Cast correspondent Jason Harris emceed the evening, which recognized honorees in five groups, mirroring their introduction in the 'This Week in Chinatown' series. Among the honorees were @lasvegasfill, @brandonfromvegas, @wheretogovegas, @therubyontherocks, @baileyzeats, @withlove_christine, @tiny_pennguin, @giselliii93, @tiarappgyo, @antonio_loves_wings, @heydonnah, @ceslynne, @shekuni_lv, and @studiosealv. Each received a custom plaque commemorating their contributions.

"The creators honored through these awards have done far more than post about restaurants," said Joe Muscaglione, founder of ChinatownVegas.com and Chinatown Amplify. "They've helped the world see why Las Vegas Chinatown is a destination." The event highlighted the corridor's impressive statistics: approximately 23.9 million annual visits and 248 verified sit-down restaurants, along with cafés, markets, and nightlife venues stretching from I-15 to Rainbow Boulevard.

The reception featured a culinary showcase from some of the corridor's most acclaimed chefs, many of whom had received MICHELIN Guide recommendations the previous night. Sparrow + Wolf and Lamaii, both newly recognized by the guide, offered standout dishes: a smoky wood-fired Isaan sausage with fermented green mango and a garlicky crispy prawn, respectively. Chef Steve Kestler of Aroma Latin American Cocina created an exclusive citrus-forward Chinatown Ceviche, while Chef Jimmy Li of Shanghai Taste presented a rich abalone and sea cucumber meatball. Double Zero Pie & Pub debuted its new New York-style pizza, and other offerings included China Mama's orange chicken, Mama's House rice dumplings, O.Onigiri's tri-pack of unagi, wagyu, and shrimp tempura, and Noodlehead's famous beef rolls and cold noodles.

Sweets were provided by Yo, Mochi! founder Santy Luangpraseuth with crème brûlée mochi donuts, Moignet Café's chiffon sando, and Milk Bread's warm cheese and guava bread. Longtime beverage veteran Paul Ellis poured wine and champagne, while The Alchemist Bar & Restaurant supplied cocktails and zero-proof options.

The event's significance was underscored by the presence of notable guests, including rock photographer David Plastik and legendary music publicist Mitch Schneider, whose clients have included David Bowie and Aerosmith. Schneider described the reception on Facebook as a "meaningful event" honoring creators "who've helped put Las Vegas Chinatown on the map."

The overwhelming attendance and broad participation from the culinary and business communities signal a strong foundation for the future of the Chinatown Creator Awards. ChinatownVegas.com will feature full coverage in a special edition of This Week in Chinatown, with both written and video episodes released together every Monday starting next week.
