InTiCa Systems Reports Slight Sales Growth in H1 2026 Despite Persistent Challenges

InTiCa Systems SE, a provider of electronic components and systems, has published its interim report for the first six months of 2026, revealing a slight improvement in sales and earnings amidst ongoing market difficulties. The company reported group sales of EUR 35.0 million, a 1.5% increase from EUR 34.4 million in the same period last year. However, the group still recorded a significant net loss of EUR 1.8 million.

The company's CEO, Dr. Gregor Wasle, commented on the performance: “The challenging market conditions for automotive producers have not spared InTiCa Systems SE in the second quarter. However, this was more than offset by significant growth in business with inverters and charging systems in the Industry & Infrastructure segment.” The Industry & Infrastructure segment saw a remarkable 104.8% sales surge to EUR 5.0 million, while the Mobility segment experienced a 6.4% decline to EUR 30.0 million.

On the earnings side, InTiCa was adversely affected by the hike in copper prices and increases in oil-dependent precursors such as plastics and enamelled copper wire. The material cost ratio rose to 61.1% from 57.2%, overshadowing successful cost reduction and productivity enhancement measures. Despite these cost pressures, EBITDA improved slightly to EUR 2.0 million, with a margin of 5.8%, while EBIT remained negative at minus EUR 1.1 million, an improvement from minus EUR 1.3 million in the prior year.

Orders on hand increased to EUR 81.4 million, up from EUR 76.7 million at the end of June 2025, with 93% attributable to the Mobility segment. New orders primarily came from inverter components, indicating a continued focus on electromobility and related technologies.

The company's financial position remains strained, with a net cash outflow from operating activities of EUR 0.6 million, compared to an inflow of EUR 2.8 million in the prior year. The equity ratio declined to 28.0% from 32.1% at the end of 2025, but remains at what the company considers a solid level. Liquidity management remains a high priority, supported by standstill agreements with banks.

Looking ahead, the macroeconomic environment is still dominated by risk factors. The Board of Directors anticipates group sales between EUR 68.0 million and EUR 73.0 million for the full year 2026, with EBIT projected between minus EUR 1.5 million and minus EUR 2.5 million. These forecasts assume no further deterioration in cyclical trends, no escalation of geopolitical and trade policy conflicts, and ensured financing.

Friedrich Erfuth of the Board of Directors stated: “The development of orders and the volatility of order offtake were in line with expectations and liquidity is protected by the standstill agreements with the banks. We are consistently continuing the transformation we have initiated through diversification, specialization and localization.” The company plans to step up its focus on electric motors and EMC filters in the second half, with increased attention to new business areas and the local-to-local approach, particularly in North America.

The complete interim report for H1 2026 is available on the company's website at www.intica-systems.com. The results underscore the ongoing challenges in the automotive supply chain, but also highlight the potential in emerging segments like industrial infrastructure.
