MEDICLIN Reports Solid First-Half Results for 2026, Driven by Post-Acute Segment Growth

MEDICLIN Aktiengesellschaft (Ticker: MED; WKN 659 510) reported consolidated group revenues of EUR 386.4 million for the first half of 2026, up 5.0% from EUR 368.1 million in the prior-year period. Group EBIT improved by EUR 4.3 million to EUR 26.6 million, driven by strong performance in its Post-Acute segment and effective cost controls.

The company treated 54,708 patients in the first half of 2026, compared to 53,183 in the same period last year. CFO Tino Fritz attributed the results to consistent momentum from the first quarter, stating: “Stability in our core business areas, efficient cost management and targeted investments have helped us to achieve our earnings targets for the second quarter. We remain determined to maintain this momentum and to strengthen MEDICLIN’s growth in the long term.”

The Post-Acute segment, MEDICLIN’s largest, generated revenues of EUR 263.0 million, up 4.6% from EUR 251.5 million. Segment EBIT rose to EUR 25.6 million from EUR 23.3 million. The cost of materials ratio improved to 19.0% from 20.0%, though staff costs increased 7.2% to EUR 145.2 million, pushing the staff costs ratio to 55.2% from 53.9%. This segment’s growth underscores the increasing demand for rehabilitation services in Germany, a key driver for MEDICLIN’s business model.

The Acute Care segment reported revenues of EUR 111.2 million, up from EUR 104.6 million, but EBIT remained flat at EUR -1.1 million. Cost of materials rose 12.2% to EUR 34.6 million, with the ratio increasing to 31.1% from 29.5%. Staff costs grew 6.3% to EUR 68.6 million, though the staff costs ratio held steady at 61.7%. This segment’s breakeven performance reflects ongoing challenges in acute care margins.

In the Care segment, revenues edged up to EUR 12.3 million from EUR 12.1 million, and EBIT turned positive at EUR 0.2 million, compared to EUR -0.2 million a year ago. The Service segment reported other income of EUR 69.2 million, slightly above EUR 68.5 million, with EBIT rising to EUR 1.9 million from EUR 0.5 million.

Looking ahead, management expects consolidated group revenue growth of 3.5% to 6.5% for the full financial year, with group EBIT projected between EUR 57.0 million and EUR 72.0 million. The interim report is available on MEDICLIN’s website.
