Accelleron Appoints Ravin Pillay-Ramsamy as President of Service Division

Accelleron, a global technology leader in turbocharging, fuel injection, and digital solutions for heavy-duty applications, announced the appointment of Ravin Pillay-Ramsamy as President of the Service Division and member of the Executive Committee, effective October 1, 2026. Based in Baden, Switzerland, Pillay-Ramsamy will succeed Roland Schwarz, who has been appointed CEO of OMT, an Accelleron company specialized in fuel injection. Klaus Heim, current CEO of OMT, will retire at the end of September 2026.

Daniel Bischofberger, CEO of Accelleron, expressed enthusiasm about the new appointment: "We are very pleased to welcome Ravin to Accelleron. He brings extensive international leadership experience in industrial services, engineering, business development and M&A, combined with deep expertise in power generation, oil and gas, and industrial infrastructure. His proven track record in leading global service organizations will be highly valuable as we continue to strengthen our service business and create value for our customers worldwide."

Pillay-Ramsamy joins Accelleron from Sulzer, where he currently serves as Division President Services and is a member of the Executive Committee. Previously, he held several senior leadership positions within Sulzer’s Services division across EMEA and Asia Pacific. He began his career in the United States at Turbine Services Ltd., where he served as Business Development Director and Vice President Engineering. He holds a Global MBA from Columbia Business School and London Business School, a Master’s degree in Management and Finance from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University.

This leadership change comes at a critical time for Accelleron, which is accelerating sustainability in the marine and energy industries. The company’s service division is expected to play a pivotal role in supporting the energy transition by providing maintenance, upgrades, and digital solutions that enhance efficiency and reduce emissions for heavy-duty applications. With Pillay-Ramsamy’s extensive experience in industrial services and his background in power generation and oil and gas, he is well-positioned to drive growth and innovation in this sector.

The appointment also highlights a broader trend in the industry: companies are increasingly focusing on service-led growth strategies to capitalize on the installed base and build long-term customer relationships. As the demand for cleaner energy solutions rises, the service business becomes a key revenue stream and a differentiator. Accelleron’s decision to bring in an external leader with a strong track record in services underscores its commitment to enhancing its service offerings and maintaining a competitive edge.

For industry observers, this move signals that Accelleron is prioritizing service excellence as a core component of its strategy. The company, which serves customers in more than 100 locations across over 50 countries, is likely to leverage Pillay-Ramsamy’s leadership to expand its service capabilities and strengthen its global presence. His expertise in M&A may also hint at potential acquisitions or partnerships to bolster the service division’s portfolio.

As the energy transition accelerates, companies like Accelleron are adapting their business models to meet evolving customer needs. The appointment of a seasoned services leader reflects a strategic shift towards providing comprehensive solutions that ensure operational efficiency and sustainability. This move is expected to have a positive impact on Accelleron’s customers, who will benefit from enhanced service quality and innovation.
