Andina Copper Expands Cobrasco Porphyry System with New Drill Results in Colombia

Andina Copper Corporation (TSX-V: ANDC | FSE: FIR | OTCQB: PMMCF) announced continuing outstanding drill intercepts from the Cobrasco Project in Choco, Colombia, with results from hole CDH008 extending the Cobrasco Central Cu-Mo porphyry system to the north. The company is systematically advancing a wide-spaced scout drilling program aimed at testing the limits of the system.

Drillhole CDH008 was completed to a depth of 652.25 meters and returned 272 meters at 0.50% copper, 75 ppm molybdenum, and 1.92 g/t silver from 52 meters downhole, including a higher-grade interval of 152 meters at 0.67% copper, 68 ppm molybdenum, and 1.90 g/t silver from 54 meters. The hole was drilled due north to test the northern continuity of the shallow mineralized zone at Cobrasco Central, following previous holes from the same platform that intersected broad intervals of continuous moderate- to high-grade mineralization.

Near-surface mineralization begins at approximately 52 meters downhole and is associated with multiple mineralized porphyry phases and related magmatic-hydrothermal breccias. The strongest mineralization is linked to potassic and sericite-altered hydrothermal breccias spatially related to intermineral rhyolite porphyry intrusions, where chalcopyrite occurs as matrix infill and cross-cutting veinlets. Bornite was locally observed, potentially indicating a later higher-sulphidation event. The system remains open in all directions, with the mineralized footprint currently extending approximately 1,100 meters along strike and 550 meters laterally.

Two additional drillholes have been completed from the same platform: CDH009 (completed, assays pending) and CDH010 (in progress). CDH009 is testing the northwest extension, and CDH010 is targeting the west-southwest extension. Visual logging indicates sulphide mineralization consistent with the broader Cobrasco Central system in both holes. Surface geochemistry and field observations strongly suggest that mineralization continues to the north and northwest, according to President and CEO Joseph van den Elsen.

The company is preparing to mobilize a second diamond drilling rig to support the next phase of definition drilling at Cobrasco Central and new porphyry centers yet to be tested. Further large step-out holes are planned to target the northwest and northern extensions.

These results are significant for Andina Copper as they continue to expand the Cobrasco system, which holds potential for a large-tonnage copper-molybdenum deposit. For industry observers, the steady growth of the mineralized footprint and the open-ended nature of the system suggest that the project could become a major copper discovery in Colombia, a country with growing mining investment. The implications for the company include increased resource potential, which could enhance its valuation and attract partnership or development interest. For the broader industry, the success at Cobrasco underscores the prospectivity of Colombia's Choco region for porphyry copper deposits.
